Slaying with Slits and Smiles

Love for People

We are humans. We get tired and fed up for a lot lot lot of reasons.

Seemingly unsolvable problems. Series of unfortunate events. Sinking hopes for dreams.

I have just had my share of these. Personally, January 2016 has been particularly hard for me. It has pressed me against the walls of my visions too firmly I almost gave up on it. I was too focused being pressed that I forgot I could still breathe. So when I realized this, I loosen up. And broke the pressure of pressing with a smile.

For all the experiences that my 24 years of existence brought me, I have one word for you.

Smile.

Because it makes a difference. No matter how bad a day you’re having, you’ll feel a bit lighter and relieved than how you felt the moment before you kept on frowning and pouting about the fact of how bad a day you’re having.

Smile.

Because it is contagious. Yes, sometimes it is hard to wear it on your face especially when you don’t really feel doing it. But, you know, trust me. Just do it. For all you know, it just starts on your face. Then you’ll feel it in your gut. Then most of the times, when you are with a good company, it even turns into something loud and perky sounds, called by humans as laughter, and sometimes comes with violence too, which leads you to slapping the closest person reachable. And so then, you pass the sickness of being happy.

Smile.

Because it radiates. As what the famous French fashion designer Christian Dior said, “Happiness is the secret to all beauty. There is no beauty without happiness.” So you see, as much as a smile affects the world around you, it also affects the world within you. It positively changes both how you look at the world and how the world looks at you. So,

Smile.

Just because.
